Heat pump subsidies in Slovakia: conditions and process

In Zelená domácnostiam II, standard support is up to €4,000, or up to €4,600 if you meet the enhanced-support conditions.
You pay for the equipment and installation first. After assessment and a signed agreement, SIEA pays the contribution directly to the household.
Are applications open?
Recorded status on 20 October 2026: New applications cannot currently be registered. SIEA's application page stated that the old system closed on 15 September 2026. An announced launch date for a replacement system does not establish that applications can already be submitted.
Check the latest availability directly with SIEA. Before ordering, budget for the possibility that you will receive no subsidy.
How much support can you receive?

The calculation uses up to 10 kW of registered supported output and no more than 50% of eligible expenditure, rounded down to whole euros. Use the exact model's output in the SIEA register.
Enhanced support concerns a zero-emission appliance in an air-quality management area or a household that stops using solid fuel. An address or boiler replacement alone does not establish eligibility; the other rules still apply.
Indicative subsidy calculation
This assumes the full entered price is eligible. The contribution can be lower if SIEA recognises only part of it. The calculator does not assess eligibility or reserve funding.
Eligible households and equipment
Support is for eligible individuals who own or co-own a residential property. A legal entity, business asset, rental or other economic activity requires assessment under the full conditions, rather than the building's description alone.
The exact model must be in the SIEA eligible-equipment register by the complete application at the latest. The household commits to operating it for at least 5 years after the agreement takes effect. The same equipment cannot receive duplicate public funding.
Check the conditions in section F and the technical annex of the programme conditions (PDF). Registration of equipment does not prove that it suits your home.
From checking eligibility to payment
This describes the new process once the system is available. Registration was unavailable at the recorded check date.
Check the home, equipment and budget
Verify eligibility and the exact model in the register. Agree the installation scope and arrange to finance the entire price.
Register and request a reservation
Once the system opens, the reservation request enters the queue. Queue entry does not confirm support.
Wait for the reservation to be confirmed
SIEA sends it when funding becomes available for your application. The complete-application deadline runs from the reservation.
Document installation and full payment
Submit the complete application with attachments within 45 calendar days at the latest. If the equipment is already installed, the official process also allows you to prepare the complete application earlier.
Sign the agreement with SIEA after assessment
If the application meets the conditions, SIEA sends an agreement for signature. It then pays the contribution directly to the household's account.

Documents and the reservation deadline
The deadline is 45 calendar days. It starts the day after funds are reserved and cannot be extended. Prepare attachments as you go.
Depending on the situation, additional documents concern residence, representation, removal of the original solid-fuel heating, co-owner consent to payment into the account or the choice of an electronic agreement. SIEA may request further evidence.

Common questions
Can an air conditioner receive support?
An eligible air-to-air heat pump may qualify only in a building without a water-based heating system. Heating capability alone is insufficient: check the exact model and technical conditions in the SIEA rules.
Does a heat-pump water heater qualify?
Do not automatically subtract support for standalone hot-water heating. The exact registered equipment and technical conditions govern eligibility; the heat-pump rules address space heating.
What about an old application?
The conditions effective from 21 September 2026 introduce direct household payment. According to SIEA's transition announcement, previous applicants must register again in the new system. Ask SIEA about the specific status of an already issued voucher.
